TAKE IT AND BID IT
The misinformation surrounding last Thursdays 1000 point sell off...is typical of the media and government...after congressional testimony and interviews....and now proposed yet more regulations THEY DON'T KNOW WHY IT HAPPENED. The answer is simple... as we have watched almost every market day for 30 years bell to bell....there were no buyers. The tick ratio fell to a record -1,900.. was over -1,000 for a very large part of that morning and then the selling really kicked in when day traders (spooked) stepped aside. Welcome to the new electronic world minus the old specialist system ...that is now 100% controlled by computers, beyond regulation, supervision or disclosure. Maybe the "regulators" should be asking who is buying gold.
By the way it was not a record percent move for the general markets that day either...the market moved 8.7% on a intra-day basis last Thursday..in comparison, the S&P 500 fell by 20.5% intra-day on October 19th, 1987. That day was called Black Monday and we remember it well.
Observations:
-) Silver seems cheap relative to gold as does natural gas relative to oil.
-) Bonds look expensive relative to Stocks.
-) China needs to start putting on a show....their market looks heavy...but they (as usual) seem to be on top of their GROWING INFLATION ISSUES.
-) In Greece, 40% or more of the population works for the public sector...do you really think anything will change? The party goes on for a few more years.
-) The USA is paying a big portion of the EUROTARPDUO.
-) The UK better get it's house in order quickly with its new leadership.
-) The untold story is the ultimate failure of Socialism in Europe and England.....wdc,llc will learn this soon...i.e...November elections.
-) We hear, "You see what you want to see".
-) With just a few exceptions now... almost everyone is now bearish on the stock market...
-) The fellow that made billions shorting the housing bubble is now very bullish on housing prices..declaring so this week.
-) The general stock market is narrowing....usually not a positive sign.
-) Big new swings in different directions after one long move (like the past year) usually signal a pending change in direction.
As hope turns to fear.. gold and silver gap higher....oil should follow....we are now looking for relative strength as well as false breakdowns or false break outs.....coal could be an example of shorts ganging up.. on the now cheapest cash flowing hard asset on the planet and yes a future target of wdc,ll..
The Government can't run anything for profit...this is a simple fact and one the general population has to understand....the losses by government have to be therefore funded...and can be so only to a point..... The US Post Office will lose over $8 billion this year. Amtrak will lose billions. Fannie Mae (many have never heard of this government operation) will lose more than AIG.....the list is now endless...and growing.....
EVERYTHING THAT IS HAPPENING NOW IS INFLATIONARY.
