The Amazon

If you have never been to the rain forest or the Amazon River make it a priority. Unless you have seen it, you can't relate to it.

The Amazon is entering its second worst drought year in history. An estimated 1/5th of the Amazon rain forest has now been deforested/ razed. It is believed that at the 50% mark the forest will die off. With the current drought and continued deforestation this trend is accelerating.

Their are people now that believe the hurricane cycles are related to the deforestation. If the trend continues it would spin out of control because of no off setting counterbalances in the atmosphere.

"With the trees gone, the soil will bake in the (unshielded) sun and the rain forest could become a desert.

The temperatures are a constant 90 to 100% at the equator. No one is focused on this as the world's attention is everywhere else.....be careful!!

Barkly seen here next to the shores of Lake Minnetonka hears about severe record setting droughts in England (they turned off the sprinklers now in the royal gardens), Australia and the USA. Minnesota, the "land of 10,000 lakes" is looking pretty good right now.
