Meritocracy

Meritocracy is a system of government (or business) based on rule by ability (merit) rather than by wealth or social position. "Merit" means roughly intelligence plus effort. One implication is that whatever level in society a citizen reaches is held to be what such an individual deserves.

The President complained last night (appropriately so) of the concept of American Entitlement. True to American history, the challenges set forth by the President are exciting, timely and very forward looking. The USA needs to find the next generation of technologies to lead the world.

Hard working well educated Americans have a very bright future if they choose so! They (the X'ers) will have all the tools and opportunity in the world at their finger tips. It is up to them to be the next leaders!
