Don't Rely on the Past to Predict the Future

It's a better strategy to be a follower of the prevailing trends then to try to predict trend changes. The trend is your friend. The commodity markets have, in general, performed in one way during the past 25 years, but it's different now-and this difference will most likely continue for the foreseeable future. This is called a secular change. The majority of people are fighting it or blaming these moves one day on China or Iran. Like gold's move today.

If something is different this time than why is it different and why could the crowd be wrong? The crowd is never right at the top nor at the bottom of anything. Crowd or herd mentality is where most investors loose the most amount of money.

So do your homework and ride the corrections! Barkly looks forward everyday to tomorrow and does not dwell on the past.
