Barkly Has Dinner With Ford Bell

Ford Bell running for U. S. Senate made a big impression on Barkly's guests last night. Running for the DNC's seat being vacated by Senator Dayton...Ford Bell articulated his positions on Health Care, Iraq, Energy Independence and Education. Few people.. regardless of their side isle would be better positioned in life to serve their country as Ford Bell is today.

1) Heath Care- A national plan where everyone is "insured" paid for by the government but administered by private business. He believes the current focus on treatment is all wrong and should be focused on prevention... the cost savings long term would be less expensive than the current system we enjoy today. He highlighted the fact that 30 to 40 million Americans are currently without any coverage...two things...a) In the advent of any disaster or pandemic..these uninsured would break the system b) The current epidemic of Diabeties is going (already is) to be a huge problem....it is mostly effecting the Hispanics and black population. Ford is a Doctor and has vast knowledge here....

2) Iraq- We need to leave the country. Bring the various factions in the Middle East together and let them collectively work it out...American presence is not going to solve the problem...but it is in everyone's (the World's) interest to have a peaceful Iraq as the world's 4th largest oil producer....Ford realizes the business aspect and political nature of this position.

3) Lets go green and make America less energy dependant.

4) Education....Ford is a former teacher...we have to educate the population to a higher level...we as Americans can not progress further without better and more efficient education.

5) Fiscal restraint. Ford believes we can do better than we are with the way WDC spends our money.

Barkly , a republican, sees this fall as a very important time for America..the mid term elections...people in power need to rise to this opportunity and continue our great traditions...

What separated Ford Bell from other DNC candidates was a unanimous agreement he is running a very positive campaign...not complaining one minute and having answers for all his positions..Barkly is going to watch Dr. Bell very closely.....


Barkly was excited by the end of the evening...he sensed the urgency of all these key topics and having the best qualified people wanting to go to work in WDC.
