The Hillary Discount

Posted by Picasa
People we speak to, papers we read, TV media we observe and congress we watch sure are negative, bearish and not happy about the future. When you get a lack of leadership locally, nationally and globally people generally kind of scatter around and pull in their horns. The controlling democratic senate and what appears to be a conceding of the presidency to Hillary is exactly what the voters of the is country are facing and for some very strange reason....they like and want more of this...time will tell...but with the cast of characters behaving as they are to the generals of Iraq, to the treatment of entrepreneurs and successful people of this country including the best run companies in the world based in the USA it is hard to get excited by this negativism....unless you are a contrarian and can see the forest through the trees.

The "crash" everyone is upset about is related directly to everything in fixed income land....not (yet) equities. The stock market holds in a new trading pattern to see what the fed will say next week, what month end and quarter end mark ups or downs will be required for the traders (realized losses)....many are going to cash and waiting it out, many are going to gold because the dollar is making new lows...time will tell....but this is an unusual feeling/ attitude many have right now and they have not acted this way since maybe President Carter was in office...appeasing the Iranians and trying to deal with OPEC.....sound familiar??

Oil heads higher and nobody owns any..or believes the move...people are far too complacent and will either chase this stock market much higher when the mood changes or very possible (without leadership improving) sell holdings much lower....

The China A Shares remain overvalued (the China A shares have been turning over 100% per month, the NASDAQ turned over 40% per month at its bubble top in the late 90's), Microsoft Vista is not a hit (and Apple is), and winter is coming at us fast!

Danny Boy seen here ponders the future....he likes his leadership and knows it goes both ways as he is a team player.
